9We are proud to announce the publication of the Bosnian-Persian Dictionary, a collaborative effort between the Ibn Sina Scientific Research Institute and the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo.
This comprehensive two-volume dictionary contains approximately 50,000 Bosnian words and their Persian equivalents, accompanied by examples illustrating their usage in Bosnian phrases, idiomatic expressions, proverbs, and sentences – along with their corresponding Persian translations.
The authors of the dictionary are Prof. Dr. Namir Karahalilović, Prof. Dr. Munir Drkić, and Dr. Mubina Moker.
The Persian text was edited by Dr. Nasrin Shakibi Momtaz, and the Bosnian text by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Enisa Bajraktarević, while the final text revision was done by Hajra Polovina.
The reviewers of this significant project are Prof. Dr. Taghi Poornamdarian from the University of Tehran, and Prof. Dr. Ismail Palić and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Zildžić from the University of Sarajevo.
This project was launched in 2011 at the Ibn Sina Institute under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Namir Karahalilović, with the participation of a group of lecturers and researchers in Persian language and literature.
After the completion of the compilation, the dictionary was published as a co-edition with the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo.
This dictionary serves as a supplement to the Persian–Bosnian Dictionary published by the Ibn Sina Institute in 2010, and represents another step toward promoting the study and research of these two languages.
The official promotion of the Bosnian-Persian Dictionary will soon take place in Sarajevo.
