On December 20, 2021, Persian Language Department of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, accompanied by their professors, Professor Namir Karahalilović, PhD, Professor Đenita Haverić, PhD, Professor Munir Drkić, PhD, Assistant professor Velida Matardžija, PhD, Merisa Đido, MA, and the lector of the Persian language Mr Hadžeri, came to visit the Science and Research “Ibn Sina” Institute.
The director of the Institute Mohammad Hossein Abbasi warmly welcomed the students, and in his brief introduction explained to the students the scientific contributions of the “Ibn Sina” Institute, but likewise he presented the most memorable publications. Afterwards, the lector, Mr Hadžeri, addressed the students, who pointed out the tradition of the mesnevi in BiH, as a direct link which ties the two cultures, the Iranian and the Bosnian ones. Mr Hadžeri pointed out that it is necessary to place more scientific effort into the field of translation because that is the only way in which two friendly nations can get better acquainted with each other. Then, Mubina Moker, PhD, spoke to the students, and she presented the work “Ilahinama”, by Feriduddin Muhammed Attar Nishapur. In her speech, Moker, PhD, pointed out the specifics in Attar’s verse, and she also read a short story from “Ilahinama”. On behalf of the Persian Department, Professor Munir Drkić, PhD, addressed the present guests and he thanked Abbasi Valadi and the “Ibn Sina” Institute for the invitation and he pointed out the significance of the current activities of the Institute in the promotion of the Persian language and literature. After that, the students visited the Institute’s library which encompasses around 5000 books in Persian, Arabic, English and Bosnian.
The “Ibn Sina” Institute provided the students with appropriate gifts, books “Islam and Iran – Mutual Contributions” and “The History of Persian Literature”.
