Abstract

The New World Order that is in the focus of this paper is a rather complex research task. We live in a world that is intertwined with deep divisions and contradictions and in times of changes in global power relations. According to many, the unipolar global order in which the United States seeks to keep the global primacy in world politics and economy as long as possible is at an end, and China, as the largest emerging power, is emphasizing in a certain way its global dominance ambitions with the request to restructure the complete architecture of the post-Cold War global order. The crisis of contemporary political relations i.e. the struggle for the global domination between the dominant power and the emerging power is manifested through various political, economic and cultural activities, and sometimes it seems that it is just a matter of inspecting the terrain for future serious confrontations. This is especially the case in the wider Asia-Pacific region where, with new development impulses, the interests of the United States and China but also other Pacific countries meet and many believe that development in this part of the world will have an everincreasing importance and impact on overall global trends in the future. With its economic growth and political power, China is becoming ever more present as an important political factor in the world. However, in future relations with the United States it will surely, regardless of certain disputes (trade, Tibet, Taiwan, etc.), endeavor to maintain the existing and develop new mechanisms of cooperation with this predominant country in the world, especially in the Indo-Pacific region. Inimical relations are not desirable because the economic interdependence of the two countries will slow down and complicate the economic development of China and the realization of its strategic goals. It is difficult to estimate what could happen in the long run while China diversifies its economic ties. It is certain, however, that there will be no harmonious world without antagonism in any foreseeable future.
