The “Ibn Sina” Institute Hosted the Participants of the “Peace March 2022” from Iran

On Thursday, July 7, 2022, the “Ibn Sina” Institute was the host to cca. 70 activists, journalists and physicians from the I. R. of Iran, who under the guidance of the organisation “Tabīb-e masīr” came to partake in the “Peace March 2022”. The wanted to, in such fashion, pay tribute to the victims of Srebrenica. The Institute organised a suitable programme on this occasion, dedicated to the genocide victims, by stressing the speech of Mr Amor Mašović.

At the opening, the attendees were greeted by the director of the Institute, Mr Mohammad Abbasi Valadi, who briefly introduced the Institute’s activities. Thereafter, the attendees were addressed by a brief speech presented by His Excellency Gholamreza Ghelichkhan, the Ambassador of the I. R. of Iran in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who emphasised the centuries-old tradition of co-existence in Bosnia.

Afterwards, an hour-long, emotional lecture by Mr Amor Mašović ensued, who dedicated his entire life to the discovery and the exhumation of the victims from the last B&H war. The lecture was documented through the slides of mass graves and victim exhumations, which had in turn caused very emotional reactions among the spectators and drew tears in their eyes.

Within the group of this year’s members of the “Peace March 2022” there was also Mr Mahdi Heidari, with his wife, the son of the Iranian shahid Resul Heidari, who gave his life for the liberty of B&H in 1993, near-by Kakanj.
