The Elementary School “Mula Mustafa Bašeskija”, Donje Moštre Students Visit to the “Ibn Sina” Institute

On the 15th February, 2024 the Science and research institute “Ibn Sina” has welcomed the students of the “Mula Mustafa Bašeskija” elementary school from Donje Moštre in Visoko. Students of the 7th and 9th grades have visited the Institute accompanied by the teacher of Bosnian language and literature, prof. Ilhana Fejzić and the librarian of their school Amela Tabaković.

The students which visited were members of the Book club at their school, and for them visiting scientific institutions and libraries was very important. This was also the final goal of their visit. On that note, Enisa Grabus, in the name of all the employees of the Institute addressed the students and showed them some of the premises of the Institute such as the library, the amphitheater and the study. Also, in her short address she presented the activities and the work of the Institute “Ibn Sina”from the day of its establishment to today with special reference to translating works in the domain of Persian literature, and showed them highlighted translated works into our language, such as the “Divan” of Hafiz Širazi, the “Ilahiname” Feriduddin Attar, the Persian-Bosnian dictionary.

In the second part of the expositions she showed the work of the Students club “Ibn Sina” along with the publishing of the periodical Journal “Students’ Times/Studentska vremena”. Also, she used this opportunity to introduce them to the project “The Clouded Youth” which was conducted by the members of the Club. The importance of the existence of such a platform for students is highlighted and the possibility of membership of these students when they come of age and become university students.

As the manager of the library of the Institute, Edis Salihović spoke, who introduced the students to the rich library fund and the work of the library.

During the last part of the address which was held in the amphitheater of the Institute, Enisa

Grabus highlighted the importance of this room for the purpose of hosting science

conferences, symposiums, panels, and showed the students the system of simultaneous

translation that the Institute possesses.

In the end, as a sign of gratitude for this visit, in the name of the “Ibn Sina” Institute, this

Elementary school was gifted the “Divan” of Hafiz Širazi and the Persian-Bosnian dictionary.
