On Monday, February 16, 2026, a delegation from the „Ibn Sina“ Research Institute, led by its director Mohammad Hossein Abbasi, met with the Mufti of Banja Luka, Ismail-ef. Smajlović.
On this occasion, the Director of the Institute highlighted the long-standing and successful collaboration between the „Ibn Sina“ Institute and the Banja Luka Mufti’s Office, and took the opportunity to acquaint Mufti Ismail-ef. Smajlović with the Institute’s latest projects. In this context, he presented the project for the creation of a Bosnian-Persian dictionary and gifted a copy to the Mufti’s Office.
The Mufti of Banja Luka expressed his satisfaction with the visit, emphasizing the importance of extending and deepening the centuries-old cultural ties between Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the future promotion of this dictionary in Banja Luka.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief Imam of the Islamic Community Council in Banja Luka, hfz. Muamer-ef. Okanović, and Mr. Admir-ef. Blitović, a professor at the Banja Luka madrasa (Islamic religious school).
