The Ceremonial Handover of the Duties of the Editor-in-chief of the Magazine “Signs of the Time” Was Held.

On Wednesday, May 10, the “Ibn Sina” Research Institute held a ceremonial handover of the duties of the Editor-in-chief of the “Signs of the Time” magazine.
The former Editor-in-chief Prof. Dr. Adnan Silajdžić, who held this position since 1997, was replaced by the Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rusmir Šadić.

On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, starting at 12:00 p.m., a meeting of the editors of the journal “Signs of the Time” was held in the conference hall of the “Ibn Sina” Institute on the occasion of the resignation of the Editor-in-chief of Prof. Dr. Adnan Silajdžić and the appointment of a new Editor Prof. Dr. Rusmir Šadić.

At the very beginning, the director, Mr. Mohammad Hossein Abbasi, addressed the attendees, and spoke in selected words about the scientific personality and academic work of Prof. Silajdžić. The Director of the Institute emphasized the immeasurable role of Prof. Silajdžić in positioning the journal “Signs of the Time” as a respectable scientific journal not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the Western Balkans and beyond. At the end, Mr. Abbasi thanked the Editor-in-chief for many years, Prof. Silajdžić for all the scientific effort he invested in promoting the journal, and pointed out that he will remain an honorary member of the editorial Board.

Prof. Dr. Adnan Silajdžić, in his address, recalled the beginnings of founding the editorial office of the magazine, which gathered all the eminent Bosnian-Herzegovinian intellectuals back in 1997. He pointed out that it is very important that “Signs of the Time” have survived for many years and managed to maintain continuity in their presentation. Prof. Silajdžić thanked for the co-operation and pointed out that he will always be at the disposal of the Institute and the magazine with his experience.

Prof. Dr. Rusmir Šadić thanked the Institute for the trust shown, and pointed out that he will strive to improve the scientific standards of the journal. “In this sense, one of the primary goals is to work on making the magazine more visible in the relevant databases”, pointed out the newly appointed the new Editor-in-chief prof. Sadić.

At the end of the meeting, the technical secretary of the editorial office, Ms. Hajra Polovina, read the text of the thank you note. A thank-you note and special gifts for Prof. Silajdžić, as a sign of recognition for his many years of dedicated work as the Editor-in-chief of “Signs of the Time”, was presented by the director Mr. Mohammad Hossein Abbasi on behalf of the “Ibn Sin” Institute.

At the end, a festive lunch was held for the members of the editorial staff.
