The center for Balkan studies of the Research institute “Ibn Sina” has organized an open panel dedicated to the Palestinian issue

The center for Balkan studies at the Research institute of “Ibn Sina” has organized an open panel with the title: “Why Palestine is the most important issue of the Islamic world”.

The goal of this panel was to present to an academic and wider audience the key facts related to the Palestinian issue, which are again at the center of world public attention after the Israeli attacks on Ghaza, in which a huge number of Palestinians has been killed, mostly children and other civilians, and to present facts in the context of the occurring events.

The panelists have transmitted factual information to the public, and we have seen that in the previous period we have together been under censure, and have also found it difficult to arrive at information. The Institute “Ibn Sina” continuously with a greater dose of dedication analyses and monitors all aspects of the Palestinian issue. This being confirmed during this open panel as well.

The panel was attended by: Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Razeq Namoora, the Ambassador of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Osman Softić M.A, foreign policy analysist, and Semir Sejfović, a journalist for the Anadolou Agency English. The moderator of this event was Admir Lisica, a master of history and researcher of international relations.

The Ambassador Namoora announced that the brutal Israeli attacks and catastrophe which is happening in Ghaza represents a succession of war crimes according to International law.

“This is a vengeful action which has as a goal to kill and expel as many Palestinians as possible. Sadly, in recent times we don’t see any end to that. We believe that this genocide has to be stopped this instant” – said Namoora. Namoora also spoke of the disappointment of the Palestinian people with the reaction of the majority of the world’s states to the brutal Israeli attacks on Ghaza.

“And especially with the stance of the United States of America and many countries of western Europe. The Palestinian people consider the United States an accomplice in the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people of Ghaza”, said the ambassador of Palestine.

In the end he pointed out that the genocide in Ghaza could’ve possibly been prevented had the Islamic world been more simple and decisive, however he praised the Pro-Palestinian movements and the protests of the citizens in numerous countries around the world, including Islamic countries and Muslim majority countries for their support of and solidarity with the Palestinians.

The foreign policy analysist Softić said that the Palestinian issue is the most important issue not only in the Islamic world but also the most significant issue of modern humanity.

“The Palestinian people is the last people to be occupied on planet Earth and at the same time a victim of the colonial occupation by the Israeli army, a country which became existent on the territory of occupied Palestine in 1948. This occupation still lasts to this day. Many are bewildered by this and ask themselves how could the 7th October happen as well as the attack of the Palestinian movement of the Hamas’ resistance against Israel, and nobody is asking how is it possible that a people could live for more than 75 years under colonial occupation. How is it in reality possible that not a single branch of the international community does not initiate a questioning of responsibility for the occupying forces”, said Softić.

He mentioned that the Palestinian issue is a global issue of humanity.

“Without the dissolving of this issue it is illusory to speak of a new world order, human rights, democracy and values with which Western society prides itself. Without the creation of the state of Palestine there is no progress and peace for the Near East, or the human community in general”, Softić pointed out.

It is important to mention that over 120 persons have attended the event, which is one of the greatest visitations in the long-term work of the Research institute “Ibn Sina”. The very fact that such a huge number of diplomats, political representatives, academic workers, media and students have attended this panel, affirms the public’s alignment with the truth. The Research Institute “Ibn Sina” will continue to strive in using scientifically established methods to research different themes of international relations, all with the goal of presenting facts and stopping the spreading of disinformation.
