The book “The Islamic Revolution in Iran: A View from Bosnia and Herzegovina” was promoted at the 37th International Book Fair in Sarajevo

Within the framework of the 37th International Book Fair at Sarajevo’s Skenderija, on Friday, April 24, 2026, the promotion of the book “The Islamic Revolution in Iran: A View from Bosnia and Herzegovina” by Belmin Herić, a journalist at the Klix.ba portal and historian, was held.

It is one of the newest and most significant publications of the Ibn Sina Research Institute.

The promotion provided an opportunity to present to readers a detailed analysis of one of the most important historical events of the 20th century, viewed from a Bosnian and Herzegovinian perspective.

Author Belmin Herić spoke about the process of creating the book, explaining how the idea for writing on this complex topic emerged. He emphasized that the work is essentially an expanded and revised version of his master’s thesis.

“My primary inspiration for writing came from a long-standing interest in this exceptionally dynamic and complex period of history. However, the key motivation for seriously dedicating myself to this topic was the realization that there are no works in our language that address this subject,” Herić said.

During the promotion, the Director of the Ibn Sina Research Institute, Mohammad Hossein Abbasi, also addressed those present. He welcomed the attendees and, through a striking anecdote, pointed to common prejudices as well as the true image of Iran today. He also reflected on the current geopolitical moment and global developments.

“Today, an even more important question is occupying the attention of the entire world: how did Iran manage to withstand a direct attack by two nuclear powers, supported by many Western and Arab countries, for six weeks and still remain standing firmly? In my opinion, the reason they attacked Iran for the third time is precisely because they do not understand the true strength of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Abbasi said.

He emphasized that the book “The Islamic Revolution in Iran: A View from Bosnia and Herzegovina” offers readers a clear, general, and concise overview of how the Islamic Revolution succeeded, what strategies it relied on, and what the real secret is behind its survival and continued progress.
