On Thursday, April 14, starting at 14:00 hrs, at the Culture Centre of Mostar, the book promotion of “Ilahinama”, by Feriduddin Attar, was held.
At the start of the promotion, the gathered people were welcomed by Mohammad Hossein Ansari, Consul for Culture of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Afterwards, the gathered people were addressed by Ammar Imamović, MA. He stated that the book promotion represents a particularly important cultural event for the South-Slavic linguistic territory, becase “Ilahinama” was classified even in previous centuries as one of the masterpieces of world poetry.
“It is Sufi and Irfani poetry which has no boarders, and one should, in that, search for the reasons behind its contemporariness, since it speaks to all peoples and to all epochs”, Imamović stated.
He mentioned that Attar is one of the greats when it comes to Sufi poetry whose disciple is considered to be even Rumi himself. His “Ilahinama” is a work wherein he used common speech in order to address prominent topics.
The translator of the work Mubina Moker, PhD, pointed out that gnosis literature, in general, since it speaks of universal topics, can be the connecting point of interreligious and intercultural dialogues, thus “Ilahinama” can be the same. This work addressed the contemporary man and Attar, by painting his own social reality, manages to paint our own social reality here and now, Moker, PhD, stated.
The moderator of the promotion was Dario Terzić. Attar’s verses at the promotion in Mostar were read by Benjamin Mušinović, and musical numbers were interpreted by Adnan Pajević.
Through the promotion of “Ilahinama” in Mostar, the World Day of Sheikh Feriduddin Attar was also marked.
