The Book Launch of “Job of an Interpreter” by Shahab Yar Khan
On June 10, 2022, in the amphitheatre of the Science and Research “Ibn Sina” Institute in Sarajevo, the promotion of the new book by Professor Shahab Yar Khan, PhD, was held. The programme commenced with the lecture by Mr Edis Salihović who spoke about the topic of the refugee crisis. This speech was the overture for the topic of the book itself.
The promoters were: Professor Adi Fejzić, PhD, and Damir Kahrić, MA. The moderator was Enisa Grabus, BA. At the start of the promotion, the national anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina was played, and thereafter the moderator reflected on the author’s biography and some of the basic aspects of the book. The first promoter to address the attendees was Professor Fejzić, PhD, a professor at the English Language and Literature Department at the “Džemal Bijedić” University in Mostar. He had also been one of professor Khan’s students, and during his speech, Professor Fejzić recalled some delightful and interesting moments which he experienced during the studies with his professor.
After him, the attendees were addressed by Damir Kahrić, MA, a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. He addressed the formal characteristics of the book and he tackled the title, genre classification, chapter selection, the narrator and post-modernist features of the book.
Lastly, the author addressed the gathered people. He expressed his gratitude to everybody for coming, and he thanked the two promoters for the launching of his new book.
Two students, Zerina Maksumić and Amela Vilić, also participated in the programme, and they read the reviews by Professor Simon Ryle, PhD, and Professor Murat Oner, between the promoters’ speeches.
The programme was attended by a considerable number of students from the Faculty of Philosophy and from the International Burch University, and by the author’s close relatives from Pakistan.
