The Book by Mubina Moker, PhD, “Sheikh Hasan Kaimija – the Son of Time”: Promotion.

On Thursday, December 19, 2019, in the hall of BKC in Tuzla, the book “Sheikh Hasan Kaimija – the Son of Time”, authored by Mubina Moker. The book, which was the product of the authoress’s long-term scientific research, and which was published by the Science and Research “Ibn Sina” Institute in Sarajevo and by the Institute for Religious and Social Studies in Tuzla, wad discussed by the authoress and by Professor Samir Beglerović, PhD, and by Sead Seljubac, PhD.

The moderator of the promotion, Nermin Hodžić, welcomed the attendees at the beginning on behalf of the “Ibn Sina” Institute, and he expressed gratitude for the co-publisher on the collaboration.

Sead Seljubac, PhD, in his own speech, among other, stated the following: We have one extensive study on Sheikh Kaimija before ourselves written in a scientific and analyst manner. They consulted sources which offer some segments of this great spiritual man’s life and they were integrated into a very comprehensive, and a completely understandable work, with the authoress’s own contribution to the work, recognised until now in unilluminated spheres of life and work of Kaim-baba.

The authoress Mubina Moker, PhD, brought forth an additional dimension. Besides the scientific approach and methodology, allowed and critically observed, she put in her own heart. She allowed for the work to be a self-same dialogue of her own spiritual interior which urges to bring closer that mysterious internal part of the spiritual great which is mentioned. The next step of her of her intention is to bring into the dialogue the reader asking him to open up his own heart to self-analysis, so that it would be open well-enough for the exchange of secrets. Because, as the authoress claims: “We can delve into the secret of another heart in such a measure in which discovered the secret of our own heart”.

Professor Samir Beglerović, PhD, pointed out that the authoress of this study has shown her seriousness and the contribution to scientific and research work, and in her own daring. For, she was not idle to critically approaching some older work concerning the topic and to the theses which were established in those works. Beglerović, also, on the path of Ibn Arabi’s teachings, offered the explanation of the soubriquet Kaimija (the one standing), calling out the Sufi teaching about the Big and Small standing (Kijameti kubra and Kijameti sugra), as well as the teaching of the prefect man (Insani kamil) who is at the same time the son of his own epoch (Ibnul vakt).

In the speech of Mubina Moker, PhD, who particularly thanked the Science and Research “Ibn Sina” Institute and the Institute for Religious and Social Studies, we point out the following: Sheikh Hasan Kaimija is the son of time, besides everything else he also in his own house in Sarajevo, at Ćumurija, for the first time established the female masjid dhikr, from which the female dervish movement Badžijanije would emerge. Also, he is considered the person who was, to use the common phrasing, was an engaged intellectual, and at the same time he was a deeply enlightened allam and gnostic. All gnostics, regardless of their period backdrop, regardless of their geographical background, share a special, common atmosphere. Their development relies on unique ethic parameters, regardless of the state, intentions, differences in approaching a problem and behaviour. In the midst of such ethic parameters is a man and decent conduct (hosn-i zann) of man as the harbinger of Adam’s essence. It means that hosn-i zann cannot be shaped by any external markings; ethnic adherence and we have to realise that we all share a common spiritual identity.

A common man had so much faith in Kaimija and this was substantiated by the fact that in the protection of his shadow were are Christians to be found, Christian peasants to whom he would unusually open his home giving them sanctuary before the might of the government.

The attendees were finally addressed by the Mufti of Tuzla, Vahid effendi Fazlović. He thanked the attendees, especially the authoress and the moderator, and he emphasised the importance of collaboration and the publication between the two institutes. The Mufti Fazlović, also, recalled how the Mufti of Tuzli has been upholding the Manifestation “Hasan Kaimija Days” for years, on the territories of Zvornik and Kula Grada, as the largest manifestation of that calibre in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
