The Summer School of Diplomacy officially began on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). Organized by the “Alija Izetbegović” Museum, the Research Institute “Ibn Sina,” Homework Hub, and the IUS Center for Balkan Studies, this summer school aims to provide a rich platform for students and young professionals to explore the world of diplomacy.
This year’s event brought together 16 participants, including first and second cycle students from various academic fields, including political science, international relations, law and English. These participants come from various higher education institutions in Sarajevo and throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, fostering an environment of intellectual exchange and collaboration.
In the first class of this cycle of the Summer School, His Excellency Dr. Said Khatibzadeh, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Croatia, shared his rich diplomatic experiences and presented a convincing analysis of contemporary global security challenges and diplomatic strategies from the perspective of Iranian diplomacy. Before the lecture, Dr. Khatibzadeh was received by the Rector of IUS, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yıldırım.
