Abstract
The paper presents basic data on the life and literary contribution of Mustafa Gaibija, the Shaykh of the Jelveti dervish order. He lived and worked during the seventeenth century, in the tumultuous times of the Ottoman Empire, and with his rebellious behavior and a pronounced Sufi sense of equality and justice, he gained great reputation and respect of the broad masses.
