On April 14, 2026, the round table discussion entitled “A Reinterpretation of One Dimension of the Political Personality of Martyr Imam Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran” was held at the Ibn Sina Research Institute.
At the beginning of the event, after welcoming the guests, the Director of the Institute, Mr. Abbasi, stated in his brief opening remarks:
“I, too, extend my condolences to you, the esteemed audience, and to all Muslims, as well as to seekers of freedom and justice throughout the world, on the occasion of the unjust martyrdom of the great, courageous, and wise leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.”
“On behalf of the great nation of Iran and the families of the martyrs of the war that took place during the month of Ramadan, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who have attended this event to pay tribute to the esteemed status of our martyred leader.
I would also like to extend my thanks to all the noble people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to the religious, political, academic, and cultural figures who, in various ways, expressed their condolences to the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the martyrdom of this great man.”
The first speaker was Academician Professor Rešid Hafizović, who delivered a presentation on the topic “The Relationship Between Religion and Politics in Imam Khamenei’s Intellectual System.”
Referring to Ayatollah Khamenei’s address on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, he stated:
“In his 2019 speech, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the first forty years following the victory of the Islamic Revolution had come to an end and that a new forty-year period now lay ahead. In this period, a new generation of young Iranians would have two fundamental tasks. The first task is to preserve the achievements of forty years of the Islamic Republic of Iran (…), while the second task for the new generation of Iranians is to lay the foundations for a new Islamic civilization.”
The next presentation, entitled “The Principles of the Foreign Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Imam Khamenei’s Political Thought,” was delivered by H.E. Dr. Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He spoke about the three principles enshrined in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran: dignity, wisdom, and expediency.
“The third principle is the principle of expediency, which means respecting and taking into consideration the benefits and interests of our country in international relations, while adapting to the times and their requirements.”
The third speaker was Professor Emir Hadžikadunić. Speaking on the topic “The Geopolitics of the Islamic Republic of Iran During Imam Khamenei’s Leadership,” he stated that, alongside the principle of resistance, another doctrine was developed: the advancement of medium- and long-range ballistic missile systems.
He noted:
“Given that Iran does not possess a developed air force comparable to those of Western countries, largely due to international sanctions, it focused on developing its own medium- and long-range ballistic missiles as an instrument of geostrategic balance. This, of course, was intended to serve as a deterrent against aggression toward Iran.”
The final presentation was delivered by Mr. Osman Softić. He spoke on the topic “Peace, Progress, and Sustainable Security: The Leadership Model of Imam Khamenei.”
He stated:
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is the only state in that part of the world which, for nearly 50 years, has been opposing American hegemony, Western neocolonialism, neo-imperialism, and Israeli expansionism, and therefore Iran ‘must be punished,’ and that is why it is being punished. This is precisely because of the principles that Ambassador Torkaman spoke about, as well as the principles embedded in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic, where the state guarantees protection and commits itself to fighting all neocolonial tendencies in the Islamic world. For this reason, Iran is an obstacle to these great powers.”
