Promotion of the first volume of the book „Monograph Young Muslims“ in Zagreb

On November 14th, the promotion of the first volume of the book Monograph Young Muslims was held in the hall of the Islamic Center in Zagreb. This valuable work was created through the collaboration of the Scientific-Research Institute „Ibn Sina“ in Sarajevo and the „Young Muslims“ organization.

The organization of this promotion was assisted by: the Bosniak National Community for the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County, and the Majlis of the Islamic Community in Zagreb.

The moderator of the promotion was the chief imam of the Majlis of the Islamic Community in Zagreb, Qari Hafiz Aziz Alili, who began the program by reciting verses from the Holy Qur’an.

After that, Dr. Adis Keranović, the president of the Bosniak National Community for the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County, addressed the attendees. He greeted those present and expressed his satisfaction that the promotion of a book, which provides an important historical insight into the efforts and dedication of an organization that was the backbone of the national and religious struggle of Bosniaks-Muslims in this region, was being held in this place, the capital city of a European Union member state.

After Dr. Keranović, Mr. Ali Dusti, the Deputy Director of the Scientific-Research Institute „Ibn Sina“, addressed the attendees. He thanked everyone who attended and helped make this event special, as well as the author of the book Monograph Young Muslims, historian Armin Džunuzović, and Mr. Edhem Bakšić, the president of the „Young Muslims“ organization, for their efforts and dedication in bringing this book to light. He emphasized that it is a special honor for the „Ibn Sina“ Institute to have the opportunity to participate in such scientific-historical projects that are significant for the Muslims of the Balkans.

After that, Mr. Edhem Bakšić, the president of the „Young Muslims“ organization, addressed the attendees. He presented the biographies of several prominent members of the Young Muslims mentioned in the book, as well as some anecdotes related to them.

Next, Faris Nanić, a writer, publicist, and politician, took the floor. He spoke to the attendees about the religious and national dangers and the unfavorable position in which Bosniaks found themselves during the communist regime. He highlighted how active the members of the Young Muslims were in preserving our identity and how they paid a high price for it. Many served long prison sentences, and four members of this organization were sentenced to death. The sentence, of course, was carried out.

After that, the Mufti Aziz ef. Hasanović took the floor. After greeting the attendees and expressing gratitude to Almighty God, he spoke in a deeply emotional manner about the members of the „Young Muslims“ organization who gave their most precious and beloved possession, their lives, in order to preserve the faith of their people in this region.

Hafiz Alili concluded the promotion by thanking everyone who came.
