On July 13 and 14, 2023, in the premises of the “Ibn Sina” Institute, a two-day workshop entitled “The Art of Proper Writing” was held, in which the participants were students of the International Students Club “Ibn Sina” and several participants from outside the Club itself.
The workshop is divided into four equal parts (sessions). In the first session on July 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the lecturer was M.Sc. Osman Softić, who spoke to the participants about the construction and publication of works in journals, i.e. scientific journals, as well as the differences between academic and journalistic publishing, the review process, publishing techniques in BiH and other countries.
In the second session on July 13, from 2 to 4 p.m., the lecturer was a PhD student Amina Bulić, MA, who spoke about the process of writing and publishing literary and artistic texts, and the participants did interactive exercises (group and individual) regarding the creation of dramatic, poetic, narrative and essayistic-artistic texts, and also discussed the characterization of characters, the implementation of meaning (reception theory) and the establishment of the plot of the work.
On the second day, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the lecturer was a PhD candidate Damir Kahrić, MA, who presented the participants with the differences and ways of applying, as well as participation in scientific conferences, symposia, seminars and workshops, and about constructing and publishing papers in proceedings. Also, students did group and individual exercises where they practiced creating application abstracts and interactive presentations at scientific conferences.
In the last session on July 14, from 2 to 4 p.m., the lecturer was Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdel Alibegović, who spoke to the participants about the creation and publication of scientific works such as books and monographs. Docent Alibegović interactively presented the participants with models and techniques of writing a book or monograph, as well as the role of modern technology, academic techniques in writing, and the reasons why writing and modern journalism are actually important for young students and future scientists in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.
At the end, certificates were announced to the participants who participated in the workshop, and all those present expressed their satisfaction and sincere thanks to the PhD candidate Damir Kahrić, and praised the fact that at the “Ibn Sina” Institute they had the opportunity to learn techniques and models of creative and scientific-professional publication.
