Summary

Expanding the dimensions of modernity had a strong impact on the life of modern man, to the extent that it led to the questioning of the relationship between man and religion. In the period of modernity, man developed a different view of the world of existence and no longer interpreted himself, the world and God in the same way as before because his beliefs were influenced by the determinants of modernity. Determinants such as scientism, rationalism, empiricism, etc., as well as philosophers such as Descartes, who introduced the concept of cogito and emphasized the rationalist method, Kant, who placed knowledge at the center of religion and ethics, Nietzsche with the idea of will to power, and Sartre, who placed man in the place of God, placing man at the center of the knowledge of truth, played an extremely important role. Here the question arises: what is the relationship between theological thinking and religious beliefs on the one hand, and philosophical thinking on the other? In this research, through a brief historical review of certain philosophical ideas, an attempt is made to analyze theology (ilm al-kalam) and the need for it in the modern world, using philosophical criteria in the context of historical events and the current state. For this purpose, various theological topics in relation to philosophy were considered, relevant contents were collected, and data were collected using the library research method. The work method is descriptive-analytical.
