During the 32nd Fair, the Book “Sheikh Hasan Kaimija – the Son of Time” Was Promoted

On October 8, Friday, staring at 16:00 hrs, at the International Book Fair, the work “Sheikh Hasan Kaimija – the Son of Time” was promoted, written by Mubina Moker, PhD.

At the beginning of her talk, Moker, PhD, said that the book is a critical reflection on everything that has been written, so far, in Bosnian about Sheikh Hasan Kaimija.

The authoress stated that Hasan Kaimija was a sheikh of the Qadiriyya and Khalwati order, but she also mentioned the possibility of him being an Uveis. We are talking about an intellectual who moved with his time. He portrayed such a notion in his authentic relation with women. Kaimija transformed his big house in the Ćumurija street into a vekilhana for women – the dervish of the Khalwait order and thereby he introduced women to the Sufi scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which had been unprecedented until that moment in Sufi practice.

Moker, PhD, also mentioned that she entitled one chapter of the book as “The Stranger in Time” because sheikh Hasan Kaimija remained a ‘stranger’ both in his time and to following generations who did not quintessentially analyse his personality nor his poetry. His poetry was analysed solely through the linguistic and stylistic prism , however it served him as a medium to express his gnostic thought.

In the end, the authoress explained why she dubbed sheikh Kaimija ‘the Son of Time’, pointing out that Kaimija adapted his behaviour to the demands of his environment and period, but that he lived through every moment in his awareness of God Almighty.

Finally, the authoress thanked the Science and Research “Ibn Sina” Institute in Sarajevo and to the Institute for Social and Religious Research in Tuzla, both of which were publishers of the book “Sheikh Hasan Kaimija”.
