A two-part program of the International students club „Ibn Sina“ on the occasion of the International Women’s Day was held, including a promotion of „The Book of Fate to See the Revolution of Time/Knjiga sudbine s pogledom na revoluciju vremena“, authored by prof. Shahab Yar Khan PhD

On the 8th March 2024 in the premises of the library of the Science and research institute „Ibn Sina“, starting at 14h a two-part program of the International students club „Ibn Sina“ was held on the occasion of the International women’s day, during which a new book by prof. Shahab Yar Khan PhD was promoted – „The Book of Fate to See the Revolution of Time/Knjiga sudbine s pogledom na revoluciju vremena.“

The international women’s day, 8th March is an event recognized worldwide, which marks the societal, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. In the frames of culture and literature, the members of the Students club „Ibn Sina“ presented during the first part of their program their own short presentations with reflections on topics form the field of literature by which endeavours in the directions of societal, cultural, literary and political achievements of women were emphasized.

For the first part of the program, after the words of introduction, Amela Vilić, vicepresident of the Students club „Ibn Sina“, via video recording, spoke about the topic of motherhood in poetry in the english language.

After this, the president of the  „Ibn Sina“ Students club, Emin Čamo, spoke to those present with reflections on the topic of gnostic and spiritual dynamics of expression in the works of prominent female writers, in the english language, simultaneously translating into Bosnian.

Following student presentations, the second part of the program followed during which the new book of prof. Shahab Yar Khan, „The Book of Fate to See the Revolution of Time/Knjiga sudbine s pogledom na revoluciju vremena“ was promoted with a focus on the literary and theoretical analysis of female characters in the literary compendium of William Shakespeare, which was one of the targetted materials of research in this book.

Prof. Murat Öner PhD, chief and professor of the English language and literature department at the Faculty for education and humanistic sciences of the International Burch University presided over the promotion as the main guest speaker. Prof. Murat Öner PhD spoke about the contents of the book, the scientific methodology which the author used, as well as specific areas of analyzing Shakespeare’s works in the book and general aspects of the book by which it stems out.

The author of the book prof. Shahab Yar Khan PhD, spoke about the high goals and results of his research work, with a focus on literary theory analysis and contextualization of the female characters in the works of William Shakespeare.

Želimirka Karešin, MA, via video recording, one of the first students of Shakespeare at the Philosophy faculty UNSA, pointed out the general attributes of the book due to which the study of Shakespeare in this work is broadened to non-anglophone areas and conceptions in whose frames and perspectives the work of this author may be read and understood.

A video-clip of prof. Suheyl Umar PhD was shown as well, a prominent Pakistani intellectual, who dedicated a speech to this book, talking about the connections between the works of prof. Shahab Yar Khan PhD and the anglo-oriental Shakespeare scholar Martin Lings, as well as the prominent features of the book.

Amina Yar Khan, after this presentation read her translation of this dedication from the Urdu language to Bosnian.

Emin Čamo, BA and master’s student of Arabic language and literature, spoke about the oriental perspectives of this book, with a focus on Ibn ‘Arabi’s metaphysics, as well as its application in the context of Shakespearean literature in the views of the author as well as in general.

Those present had the opportunity to pose their questions and leave their comments during the promotion.
