Ibn Sina – Naučnoistraživački institut Sarajevo

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the book “Islamic Revolution in Iran: A Perspective from Bosnia and Herzegovina” by Belmin Herić was promoted in the auditorium of the “Ibn Sina” Scientific Research Institute. The book was presented by its reviewers: Prof. Dr. Husnija Kamberović, Admir Lisica, MA, and the author himself.

In the opening part of the promotion, the director of the “Ibn Sina” Institute, Mohammad Hossein Abbasi, spoke, expressing gratitude to the author and emphasizing that this work represents a significant contribution to a better understanding and the dissemination of historical awareness among students, researchers, and interested readers in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the contemporary history of Iran.

The first presenter was Prof. Dr. Husnija Kamberović, who stated that considering the support Iran provided to our country during the aggression, there is an added need to present key facts from Iran’s history in an objective manner to readers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. “I believe that with this book, Belmin Herić has made a significant contribution to this field of research and has brought the image of Iran closer to our readers or citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” emphasized Prof. Dr. Kamberović.

The second presenter was Admir Lisica, MA, who highlighted that although this book focuses on the 1979 Revolution, it provides a chronological overview of the political and geopolitical events that took place in Iran and the region from the 1950s up to the early 1990s. “In this book, Belmin attempts to clarify Iran’s relations with other actors, primarily with the United States, but also with Great Britain, explaining the reasons behind these confrontations,” Lisica explained.

The final speaker was the author of the book, Belmin Herić, MA, who highlighted his personal journey and motivations in researching this topic. “There are two reasons: one academic and one personal. Regarding the academic reason, there were not many books about Iran in our language, except for the works of Prof. Hadžikadunić. Most of these books were of a travelogue nature. The second academic reason was to better understand what Iran is today, and to achieve that, it is necessary to understand the Iranian Revolution. The personal reason is that I have always been interested in the connection between Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically the support Iran provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” stated Herić.

Numerous figures from the political and cultural spheres attended the promotion, as well as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman. The event was moderated by Enisa Grabus.
